The first edition of the international light festival Doornenburg Castle will take place from 1 to 9 March 2019.

International artists come to Doornenburg to show their light artworks to the public.

A light festival should actually be called a light art festival. Light designers and light artists from home and abroad are invited to create a light artwork in and around the castle of Doornenburg.

Doornenburg Castle is of itself a unique building and is mentioned for the first time in the 9th century as Doornenburg. In the 13th century, the castle was owned by the Gelderland counts.

From 1 to 9 March 2019, Doornenburg Castle will be in the light spots of the first international light festival. A route is created along which visitors walk from light art to light art. Since it is about the use of light and reflection, you can only visit the festival in the evening. The route is made up of twelve works of art.
